Local PPC agency in London

Google Ads aimed at the streets and postcodes where your customers are, so you stop paying for clicks from people who will never visit or book.

Local ads waste money in a very specific way

A salon in Fulham does not want clicks from Enfield. A locksmith in Camden does not want calls at 3am if nobody can answer them. But Google’s default settings show your ads to people “interested in” your area, wherever they are, and run them around the clock.

Local PPC fixes that. We set your campaigns up so ads show only where you can serve, only when you can answer, and only for searches that lead to a booking or a call.

What our local PPC service includes

Targeting by postcode, radius or borough

We target the exact areas you serve, by postcode district, radius around your premises or London borough, and exclude the rest. We switch Google’s location setting to “presence” so your ads reach people who are actually in your area, not people who once searched for it.

Location assets and Maps ads

We link your Google Business Profile to Google Ads, so your address, distance and directions appear with your ads. It also lets your ads appear in Google Maps, at the top of local searches.

Call ads and call tracking

For most local businesses, the phone is where the money is. We add call assets to every ad and track each call: which campaign and keyword it came from, how long it lasted and whether it was answered. Calls over a set length count as conversions, so Google learns which ads bring in real enquiries.

Ad scheduling

Ads run when you are open and can take a call or a booking, with higher bids at the times that convert best, and lower or none when they do not.

Local Services Ads

For trades and services where Google offers them, Local Services Ads appear at the very top of the page, with a Google verification badge, and you pay per lead rather than per click. We check whether your business qualifies, handle the setup and manage the leads with you.

Local landing pages

Sending local ads to your homepage loses enquiries. We send each area or service to a page that mentions the area, shows local reviews and makes it easy to call or book. We build these pages ourselves.

Several locations

Each branch gets its own targeting, budget, location asset and reporting, so a busy branch does not take budget from a quiet one without you knowing.

Common local PPC mistakes we fix

  • Location set to "presence or interest", so ads show to people outside your area.
  • Ads running at night or on days you are closed.
  • Calls not tracked, so Google optimises for clicks instead of customers.
  • Every ad sent to the homepage.
  • One campaign covering every service and area, so the busiest service takes all the budget.
  • Broad keywords without negative keywords, paying for "jobs", "courses" and "DIY" searches.
  • Business Profile not linked, so no address or Maps ads.

Which local businesses suit PPC

Urgent services

Such as locksmiths, plumbers and emergency repairs, where people call the first result.

Bookable services

Such as salons, clinics and valeting, where a booking link or call button turns a click into a customer.

Businesses with high-value jobs

Where one customer covers the cost of many clicks.

New businesses

Which need customers while their reviews and local SEO build up.

If your service has few local searches or a low value per job, ads may not pay. We will show you the numbers before you spend.

Illustration

An example: a salon near Oxford Circus

An illustration of how we might set up a local campaign, not a client result.

Campaign 1, services near the salon
A radius of about two miles, search terms such as "balayage near me", "hair extensions Oxford Circus" and "blow dry Soho", and ads that link straight to the booking page for each service.
Campaign 2, brand
A small budget on the salon's own name, to protect it if competitors bid on it.
Campaign 3, remarketing
Visitors who looked at a service but did not book, shown an ad for that service within a week.
Schedule
Ads run from an hour before opening to an hour before closing, with higher bids on the days that fill up first.
Tracking
Bookings, calls over 30 seconds and direction requests counted as conversions.

Local SEO and local PPC work together

Ads put you at the top of the page today. Local SEO gets you into the map pack for free over time. The same Google Business Profile, reviews and landing pages drive both, so we plan them together. Many clients start with ads, then reduce spend on the searches where they rank organically. See our local SEO service.

How we work

  1. 1

    Local audit

    Week 1

We check your account (or plan a new one), your targeting, your Business Profile and what clicks cost in your area.

  2. 2

    Build

    Weeks 1 to 3

Campaigns set up by area and service, with call tracking, location assets and schedules.

  3. 3

    Optimise weekly

Search terms, areas, times and bids adjusted from what the data shows.

  4. 4

    Review monthly

A monthly call with cost per call, cost per booking and what we are changing next.

01

What to expect

Local campaigns often bring in calls in the first week. They usually settle into a stable cost per lead within four to eight weeks, once Google has enough call and form data.

Honest limit: If very few people search for your service in your area, a local campaign will stay small. We will show you the search volumes before you spend, and suggest other channels if the numbers are too low.

02

You own everything

Your Google Ads account and Business Profile stay in your name. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Google, separate from our fee. [to confirm: no markup on ad spend]

Reporting

Pay-per-click advertising aimed at a specific area, such as a borough, postcode or radius around your business, so you only pay for clicks from people you can serve.

Our management fee depends on the number of locations and campaigns, and is fixed after the audit. Ad spend is separate and paid directly to Google.

It depends on what a click costs for your service in your area and how many leads you want. We show you the numbers in the audit before you commit.

Yes. We can target postcode districts, boroughs or a radius around your premises, and exclude everywhere else.

They can, once your Business Profile is linked and location assets are set up. Google decides when to show them.

If Local Services Ads are available for your trade, often both. They charge per lead and sit at the top of the page. Search ads give more control over keywords, areas and ad text. We test both and move budget to whichever brings cheaper customers.
